Marketing Agencies in Sarasota and St. Pete: Ten Questions
Hiring a marketing agency in Sarasota, FL or St. Pete? Ten plain questions to ask before you sign, on price, shoot days, revisions and results.

How many marketing agencies does it take to change a light bulb? They will circle back after the discovery phase.
If you typed "marketing agency Sarasota FL" or you are looking for one in St. Pete, here is the short answer. Hire the one that answers ten plain questions straight, before you sign anything. The questions cover what it costs, what you get each month, who films you, how revisions work and how you will see what the work did. An agency that dodges a couple of them is already telling you something.
I run RSO Media Group out of Tampa Bay. These are the questions I would want a client to ask me, and they come from what I think most agencies get wrong.
What should you ask a marketing agency in Sarasota before you sign?
Start with money and paperwork, because that is where the surprises live.
1. What does it cost a month, as a number? Not "it depends." A range is fine. If you cannot get a price before a call, you are going to sit through three calls to find out it was never in your budget. For a sense of the market, WebFX's 2026 pricing guide puts social media management alone at $500 to $5,000 a month.
2. What exactly do I get for that? Count it. Shoot days, finished videos, posts per week, captions. "A full social presence" is not a count.
3. How long am I locked in? Month to month means the agency expects to keep you by doing the work. A twelve-month contract means the agency needs twelve months to make its own math work.
4. Who owns the videos? You should. It is your face and your business. Get that line in writing.
What should you ask about video production in Sarasota?
Ask who holds the camera and how often they show up, because video is where a lot of agencies cut corners without saying so. Plenty of marketing shops sell "content" that turns out to be carousel graphics and a stock clip.
Most businesses already do video. Wyzowl's 2026 survey found 91% of them use it as a marketing tool. So you are going to do video either way. What you are really picking is who does it.
5. Who films, and is it the same person every time? You want someone you get comfortable in front of. A new face every shoot means you spend the first hour warming up again.
6. How many shoot days a month, and what comes out of each one? One solid day, planned properly, should feed your accounts for the month. If the agency cannot tell you roughly how many postable pieces come out of a day, they have not planned the day.
7. How many rounds of revisions? Two is standard. If your agency or videographer gives you less than that, that is a bad deal.
What should a St. Pete videographer show you after the shoot?
A St. Pete videographer or agency should show you where your videos live, what they did, and who to call when something is off. The shoot is one morning. The month after it is the actual product.
8. Where do I see my videos, my calendar and my leads? If the answer is a shared folder and an email thread, keep shopping.
9. What did last month's posts do for the business? Not likes. Calls, bookings, leads. If nobody can say what a video did, everybody is guessing.
10. Who do I text when something is wrong? You want a name and a phone number, not a ticket portal.
That is the whole list. Twenty minutes, maybe less. Any agency worth paying can get through it without a follow-up email.
Here is where I disagree with most agencies
Most agencies film the business and forget the person running it. They will show a painting company painting houses for a year and then wonder why nobody follows the page. Nobody follows a logo. People follow the coach, the gym owner, the broker. The person is the brand, and the camera should be on them, talking.
I also think most businesses spend their marketing money badly and then decide marketing does not work. My rule of thumb is around 10% of revenue on marketing, and not all of it on video, because you still need money for SEO and ads. For the video piece, I think an agency worth paying charges somewhere between $2,000 and $4,000 a month. For that you should get one to two real shoots and 30 to 50 postable assets. If you are paying that for a handful of carousel posts, you are overpaying. You deserve a real production.
And fancy is a tax. You do not need animated titles on every post. One cut, twenty seconds, straight information. The idea and the person carry it.

That still is from 813 Barbell: somebody vacuuming the floor between the racks. That is what I mean by filming the day. You do your job, and the camera follows you around while you do it.
Does a marketing agency in St. Petersburg need to be in St. Petersburg?
It needs to be close enough to show up for the shoot, and that is about it. Editing and posting can happen from anywhere, but somebody has to stand in your building with a camera.
So "near me" matters for one day a month. If the crew has to fly in, that day gets expensive and hard to move when it rains. If they drive, you can move it.
We are in Tampa Bay. Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater are home turf. Sarasota is a drive down the coast, and we travel for the right project. Whoever you talk to, ask what travel adds to the price and whether it is on the quote already.
What we do about it
We built our retainer to answer those ten questions, so here are our answers. It starts at $1,000 a month for a solo expert and $3,000 for multi-brand teams. That covers one shoot day a month, the writing before it, the editing after, captions, and posting three times a week. It is month to month. Packages usually carry two rounds of revisions, and first cuts come in the week after the shoot.
You see your cuts, your calendar and your leads in RSoperations, our client platform. It comes with the retainer. There is no software bill. When something is wrong, you text me or Grayson.
The prices are on the pricing page, the process is on how we work, and if you want to know who you would be texting, that is on the about page.
